Ventile cloth, first developed in England in 1943, continues to be the ultimate alternative to synthetic rainwear. Commissioned by Winston Churchill during WWII, Ventile was created to help RAF Pilots survive the change in temperature during shifting altitudes. It summited Mount Everest in 1953 too, proving to be a versatile and resistant outerwear material. Today, Ventile is woven in Switzerland and treated with a light coating of DWR for a modern twist and enhanced water resistance.
