Shibori Blanket
Using a dark indigo reactive dye, this blanket is tied off and plunged three times into the color bath for a rich dark grey cast. The bright ivory stripes are the original undyed tone shining through. Each piece is dyed entirely by hand for a beautifully varied and irregular pattern. No two blankets are the same.
Each Sashiko blanket begins its journey as a stiff, neutral white garment. It's plunged into an organic reactive dye bath for about 48 hours.. allowing the pigment to entirely soak through its distinctive "rice grain" texture.
